At the heart of our practice, is mindfulness

With this sustained heat wave, the physical aspects to our practice can be challenging. But we know, asana is only a part of the yogic path. When the weather is hot, yin and restorative yoga are nice physical practice alternatives. Both types of yoga give us an entry way into our body and mind without undue heat stress. The warmth surrounding us may may help our muscles relax, providing a greater degree of stretch and total relaxation. Yin and restorative yoga helps us practice that moment to moment mindfulness than can be more difficult to hold on to in a active practice.

Please consider joining our class on Monday August 1 from 6:30-8 pm at the UU Church of Fresno on Alluvial. Wear light, loose clothing and bring plenty of water to sip!
