This month we have explored aspects of a yoga practice that the yogi can find transformative. Patanjali describes the 8 limbs (parts) of yoga as a unified practice. Even so, many people choose one or two limbs as their personal yoga practice. The most common limbs people focus on are asana and pranayama (breathing) being the asana (poses). As you can see from the graphic this week, many of our physical ailments or dis-ease can be modified by an asana practice. And, it is difficult to separate breathing with asana. The combination of these two limbs is what makes yoga unique. Yoga truly has something for “everybody”.
Our last Monday in October, the 27th, we will focus on our asana practice on a Ananda inspired practice. If you are not sure what that means, this website contains information on this style of yoga. We hope you will join us at the UU Church of Fresno on Alluvial from 6:30-8pm. All levels and abilities are welcomed!
