Keeping our focus inward: The path to contentment

perfection

I often have yogis come to me after class and make some disparaging remark about their own flexibility, strength or perhaps even their coordination and balance. I understand the need to want to “apologize” for our own perceived lacks when it comes our abilities in class. When it comes to yoga, if we can simply accept where our body and abilities are when we step on the mat each time, we can take baby steps to learning contentment. Rarely does a person come to yoga with full capability in all poses. More often, each of us notices our “lacks” and focus on them more than we focus on our successes. Try this week to change that attitude around.
Our practice this week is for arms and abs. We’ll move some energy around, build some heat and muscle. As always, our practice is Monday evening, October 14 from 6:30-8 pm at the UU Church of Fresno. Begin your path to contentment with friends on the same path!
