Muladhara Chakra and your back

Is there an adult who hasn’t experienced even a few hours of low back pain? I am sure that there must be one out there, but I haven’t met them! Most of us get those aches in our low backs after gardening, heavy lifting or maybe sitting for too long. While we can’t prevent this 100%, yoga can help minimize the episodes. The first chakra is squarely located in the lower back area, around the sacrum. When the energy of the first chakra is blocked, pain can ensue. Our practice this week is directed at the entire spine, but concentrates heavily on this low back area.
The seventeen asanas we’ll move thru are from a Western Medicine study, originally done in 2005. It has subsequently been repeated and its finds replicated. Come learn this series as well as a little bit about the studies this Monday evening January 28 from 6:30-8 pm at the UU Church of Fresno on Alluvial in Fresno.
