As our group moves toward three years together and we begin a new year, I thought it is time to challenge all of us with new asanas. These poses are in general called twists. They are some that are seated and some that are standing. Yoga Journal has an article (http://www.yogajournal.com/practice/817) that gives more information on why twists are “good practice”. We do many twists regularly in our practices together, almost always ending our practice with a twist.

Yoga focuses a good deal of attention on the spine in practice and in philosophy. On this site, you can find information on the chakras. The chakras are a yogic theory of energy movement and storage in the body that follows the anatomical spine. Along with our twists, will begin to explore the chakras this week.

Please consider joining us on Monday Nite at the UU Church of Fresno on Alluvial from 6:30-8 pm for our weekly class!
