April: A time for opening to Spring

Two weeks ago it snowed at our house. The last two weekends have brought much needed rain. Even with the unpredictable weather, nature continues her march forward toward Spring. There is so much wisdom in nature if we just watch and listen. The determination to continue with the natural flow of the seasons despite the changeable environment is a quality I want to emulate. When my life circumstances are in flux, I want to be like nature and continue my progress forward. I might be delayed, or even momentarily overcome by what is around me, but I want to continue in a positive direction, open and accepting.
Yoga has helped me to foster this attitude in my life. I don’t always succeed, but I stay or return to the path and keep on going! One activity that helps me stay on my path is the Monday Evening yoga practice at the UU Church. We will meet this Monday, April 2 from 6:30-8:00pm in the sanctuary. It is the first Monday of the month, so our practice will be yin. This site has more info on yin yoga if you are unfamiliar. All are welcome!
